    I had the chance to think long and hard about just how I should plan the lesson for what was to be the last Karate lesson held at what for me, was the mecca of my Shotokan journey over the last nearly 50 years. Bartley Green dojo is a school based in the heart of Birmingham; for nearly 45 years it has been a dojo where the art of traditional Shotokan Karate Do has been taught.     We’ve enjoyed a lovely week of sunshine in the UK this week. The sun being out always heightens my mood and so I actually felt inspired to get my writing hat on and add my own to 2 cents to the Enso SKC blog.     Bartley Green Leisure will be closed again on the 24th March 2019, but we managed to secure the Nuffield Dojo for the same time. Tomorrow's training session will take place at Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing Gym 20 Ashbrook Dr Rubery Birmingham B45 9FN From 1pm till 2.30pm

    Due to the closure of Bartley Green dojo we are moving the club training venues and altering the training times. From April, Wednesday training at Bartley Green dojo will cease, to be replaced with training on Tuesday nights at Halesowen Leisure Centre (Great Cornbow, Halesowen, West Midlands, B63 3AF) from 19.00 until 20.30 in Studio 1, the dojo we used to train at with Shihan, up the stairs good size with mirrors.     Well, it is quite frankly hard to believe that 6 months ago to the day, I was informed via a phone call from a cancer specialist at Nuffield Healthcare that I had been found to have a large tumour busy growing on my abdomen. Frankly, I had absolutely no idea that I had cancer, instead I thought that I had a virus. But, no, the CT scan was very clear: there was a large tumour that to my knowledge had probably been growing since January. And here I was, in September, being told
